Hello! My name is Chiffa Hassan, and I’m a senior majoring in Humanities. I will be serving as the External president for Beta Kappa Mu during the 2025-2026 school year. Outside of school, I enjoy taking photos of nature, reading and cooking!!
I joined BKM because of the lack of Muslim Sisterhood on campus. To me, BKM represents muslim women in college balancing Dunya and Deen. My vision as External President is to straighten our sisterhood using the S.A.L.A.M pillars and allow Muslimah's to be 100% unapologetically themselves. I’m excited to build a legacy of Service that will help continue growing our community, even beyond college, Inshallah!

Asalamu Alaykum! My name is Zainah Abu Lubdeh, and I’m a Junior majoring in Supply Chain Management with a minor in Economics. I serve as the internal president for Beta Kappa Mu during the 2025–2026 school year. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and exploring new hobbies. Lately I've been learning to play the piano!
I joined BKM because I felt that there were very few spaces on campus that truly welcomed Muslim women. I found that many activities were not meant for me and participation forced me to compromise my beliefs, so I decided to help create a space where that was never the case.
To me, BKM represents service to the community, much of what BKM stands for is giving back and uplifting others so service and philanthropy are at the forefront of our efforts.
My vision as the internal president is to give new and incoming Muslim students a sense of familiarity and community on campus, and to help each member grow spiritually, academically, and professionally. I’m excited to help build a legacy of empowered and confident Muslim Michigan State students who will leave their mark on campus and beyond Insha’Allah!

As a Black Muslim woman, finding a space that uplifts both my identity and my purpose was deeply important to me. To me, BKM represents a powerful community rooted in authenticity, unity, and growth. Growing up, I have never found a community of muslim women where I was not either isolated or spending my time trying to adhere to priorities that were far from mine. There was always some sort of disconnect; therefore, I gave up on finding other muslim women who had the same values as me, and wanted that same genuine connection that I wanted. That's where I found BKM. I joined BKM because they gave me the community that I had always searched for, full of women empowering women, and wanting the best for each other – you don't find that often. My vision as Recruitment Chair is to bring in as many new girls this year and uplift each other into becoming our best selves as a team. I’m so excited to help build our legacy, grow our sisterhood, and make genuine lasting connections.

Hi everyone! My name is Layal Farhat, and I am a third year neuroscience major, on the pre-medical track. I am beyond thankful to be apart of this amazing group of girls, and am so excited for the future of Beta Kappa Mu. When I first transferred to Michigan State during my sophomore year, I was struggling to find a place where I felt like I belonged. I wanted to find a group where we had shared values of kindness, faith, and ambition. When I was invited to join BKM, I knew that it would be my forever home and sisterhood! As philanthropy chair, I work diligently with my sisters in BKM in order to provide a space where we can empower women by fostering growth, leadership, and inclusion. Supportive sisterhood, and valuing all cultures and identities between muslim women is extremely important to us. I hope that our efforts are able to strengthen our community, not just here at MSU, but around the nation!
