Organizational Purpose

Beta Kappa Mu exists to support the academic, professional, and personal development of its members through intentional programming, mentorship, and community engagement.

The sorority operates with a commitment to inclusion, accountability, and sustainable impact, while remaining grounded in Muslim-informed values.

Mission & Vision

Mission Statement

To foster a supportive and values-driven sisterhood that promotes leadership, service, advocacy, authenticity, and mentorship among women on campus.

Vision Statement

To establish a lasting sorority model that prepares women to lead with integrity, contribute meaningfully to their communities, and create positive social impact beyond the university.

Guiding Values (SALAM Framework)

Beta Kappa Mu’s activities and governance are guided by the following five principles:

Service: Engagement in community-centered service initiatives
Advocacy: Commitment to equity, representation, and social responsibility

Core Areas of Programming

Beta Kappa Mu conducts programming across four primary areas:

Sisterhood & Community Development
Facilitated opportunities for peer connection and mutual support.
Service & Outreach
Partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations.
Leadership & Professional Development
Skill-building workshops, mentorship, and leadership training.
Cultural Engagement
Programs that affirm identity, heritage, and faith-conscious participation.

Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to all women, regardless of religious affiliation, who align with the organization’s values and expectations.

Members are expected to participate actively in programming, uphold organizational standards, and contribute positively to the community.

Governance & Sustainability

Beta Kappa Mu is committed to responsible governance, leadership continuity, and long-term sustainability to ensure the organization remains mission-aligned as it grows.
